Our Services

At Wren 3D, we provide high-accuracy terrestrial laser scanning and drone photogrammetry for projects rooted in heritage, environmental, and landscape contexts. From scheduled monuments to ancient woodlands and complex built environments, our focus is on capturing real-world detail, clearly and reliably.

We specialise in producing structured 3D data: from raw point clouds to textured mesh models, orthophotos, and elevation outputs. Every project is approached with care, flexibility, and the right tools, ensuring the level of detail, format, and workflow match your needs.

Whether you're planning a restoration, documenting a site for research, or creating visuals for public engagement, we tailor each deliverable to its purpose.

Mapping & Survey Solutions

We focus on detailed, high-accuracy 3D spatial capture using terrestrial LiDAR and UAV photogrammetry. Our services deliver comprehensive 3D documentation of landscapes, structures, and heritage sites to support conservation, research, planning, and environmental analysis.

Our workflow combines millimetre-accurate terrestrial laser scanning (Trimble X7) with efficient aerial photogrammetry (DJI Mavic 2). This enables us to capture ground-level detail and broader spatial context, including features such as rooftops, terrain, and vegetation. We also incorporate existing aerial LiDAR datasets where beneficial for landscape or contextual understanding.

Each project is scoped to match the site, purpose, and deliverables, from heritage recording and ecological monitoring to infrastructure planning and site development. Our methods are flexible, scalable, and grounded in best practice for non-invasive documentation.

We take dense point clouds from laser scanning and photogrammetry and refine them into practical deliverables, including textured mesh models, orthophotos, and digital elevation models. Our processing involves precise alignment, noise reduction, segmentation, and surface modelling, all tailored to the purpose of each project.

Whether you need detailed textures for visualisation, simplified geometry for CAD, or orthographic outputs for mapping, we format and structure all data for integration into your chosen workflow, from GIS and CAD to 3D modelling or presentation platforms.

Deliverables

Wren 3D delivers practical, reliable spatial outputs to support design, planning, and documentation. From building surveys and topographic models to 2D floor plans and 3D renderings, we offer results that are ready for use in your preferred software environment.

We can provide:

  • Clean point clouds (.LAZ/.E57/.PTS)

  • Textured 3D meshes (.OBJ/.FBX/.GLB)

  • Orthophotos, DEMs & topographic data

  • Rendered stills & flythroughs

  • As-built drawings and 2D plans

Our outputs are designed to be easy to interpret, visualise, and integrate, whether you're working in CAD, GIS, or visualisation platforms.

We understand that every site and client is unique. Whether you’re a homeowner exploring renovation options, a land agent needing detailed site plans, or a conservationist seeking high-resolution documentation, our workflows adapt to suit you.

We combine LiDAR, UAV photogrammetry, and smart processing strategies to offer custom solutions for:

  • Residential and commercial surveys

  • Forestry and Landscape assessments

  • Heritage site documentation

  • Environmental and Archeological research

Each project is approached with a focus on clarity, precision, and relevance.

Mapping Services

What We Offer

Wren 3D delivers precise 3D scanning, mapping, and visual outputs using terrestrial LiDAR and UAV photogrammetry. We capture landscapes, structures, and natural environments in high detail, producing data-rich outputs for planning, conservation, research, and interpretation.

Core Services

The services listed below reflect our core offerings, but they’re not exhaustive. If you have a project that could benefit from 3D scanning or modelling, we’re always happy to explore what’s possible.

  • Terrestrial Laser Scanning
High-resolution ground-based LiDAR using the Trimble X7 to capture structures, terrain, and natural or built environments with millimetre accuracy. Ideal for detailed documentation, spatial analysis, and monitoring change over time.

  • UAV Photogrammetry
Aerial image capture and modelling using drone-based workflows (DJI), well suited to surveying landscapes, vegetation, building roofs, and other inaccessible features.

  • Aerial Photography
High-quality, geo-tagged imagery for documentation, environmental assessment, and planning support. Often used alongside 3D outputs for context or reference.

  • 3D Mesh Modelling
Clean, textured mesh models generated from scan data, ready for analysis, interpretation, restoration planning, or integration into visual or technical platforms.

  • Orthophotos & Digital Elevation Models
Georeferenced 2D imagery and terrain models (DEM/DSM) derived from LiDAR and photogrammetry. Useful for mapping, ecological studies, and archaeological or landscape analysis.

  • 3D Scene Mapping
Spatial capture of outdoor sites, features, or reconstructed spaces, from archaeological trenches and rural structures to managed landscapes and river corridors.

  • Building Scans
Exterior scanning for documentation, modelling, or visual inspection for structural monitoring.

  • Site Documentation & Monitoring
Repeatable scans that track physical change, from vegetation growth and erosion to deterioration, restoration, or seasonal variation. Supports environmental research and heritage management.

  • Visualisation & Interpretation
Rendered outputs including fly-throughs, turntables, and interactive 3D viewers. Designed for public engagement, education, site consultation, and long-term record-keeping.

Though we specialise in heritage and environmental applications, our scanning and modelling services are not limited to these areas. Whether you're managing a site, planning a project, or need accurate spatial records, our workflows are adaptable, bringing the same level of clarity and precision to a wide range of contexts.

We’ve delivered outputs for woodlands, historic buildings, river corridors, and rural sites, but the tools we use can be applied just as effectively in many other sectors. If you think 3D scanning or modelling could support your work, get in touch, we’re always happy to discuss how we can help.
